EchoRukia?

Hello. For those of you who know of me, you must be wondering "What in the hell could Echo be using a blog for? She's all about photography last time I checked her whereabouts. A blog couldn't possibly be anything productive for her." For those of you who have NO idea who or what is EchoRukia, I can explain so to you with ease.

EchoRukia (Kristen Waslufsky) is an 18 year old female in New York attending her last year of high school who has been passionate for photography since late 2007. She has successfully passed her digital photography course at the Fashion Institute of Technology in the Autumn of 2008, and is currently taking her second semester of precollege honors program at Suffolk Community College. EchoRukia derived from Kristen's gamer tag on pretty much all the gaming systems she owns, even on MMO's. And for those of you who are familiar with Bleach the anime, yes, EchoRukia is a Bleach reference. Rukia is a pure levelheaded bad ass. Who can deny it? And secondly, Rukia is just an amazingly epic name! :) Echo is also another word I've come to fancy over the years. It's light, appealing, and something you hear when you have enough space around you. Not to say I suffer from claustrophobia or just plain hate the presence of people, but that having the room to think is a wonderful thing. At least for me it is. Explains why I keep rearranging all the furniture, posters, etc. around my room at least every three months... It's just to make sure I have enough room to access everything, and give the room a new feel.

In late 2007, Kristen was exposed to two whole new fields of photography: concert shooting and band promotion shooting. Today she accepts requests from bands, signed and unsigned, or even their managers, to show up at concerts and photograph their performances. So far, her concert and promotional shooting has been a success having shot over 30 bands since November 2007. (myspace.com/echorukiaphotography) Since November 2008 she has been shooting concerts for TheiNTERLUDE.com, a band-promoting and reviewing website.

However, photo shooting for bands isn't always enough for an artist who is willing to furtherly expand herself. Kristen likes to take advantage for the time she has available to create some of her own personal work, most of which can be found at echorukia.deviantart.com. So creating a blog consisting of her work and stories, small and huge, has become a heavily reasonable idea for Kristen. Providing herself with a new area to write up her thoughts, feelings, and experiences, she will as well be challenging herself to take photographs in which will help to describe each of her stories. Sure, you can take a photo of a sunset and say you watched it, but can you capture it from an angle it shed light on you the most whereas its viewers may be moved by the colors in the photograph as well?

Welcome to my world, I hope you are willing to keep up with my personal life. :)
